These rails allow passage through two elevation changes on a path that would otherwise be unusable. They offer a different route than the 180° rail or the zig-zag rails . The offset rails extend over three fields and guide the ball by one hex field (hence the name offset rail). And to ensure that this works in both directions, two rails are included in the set.
